Are you ready for the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023? The excitement in the soccer universe is at its peak with four days to go. The USWNT fans are gearing up to cheer Alex Morgan, Megan Rapinoe, and teammates. But do you know where the veterans stand in the all-time scoring list for the US? 

Morgan and Rapinoe will don The Stars and Stripes jersey for their fourth World Cup. Their longevity is incredible. The veterans served the nation leading to two World Cup glories in 2015 and 2019. They will take the field to get their hands on the third trophy. So, hold on to your seats to know where your favorite soccer star is on the top ten list.

Megan Rapinoe- 63

The OL reign forward recently announced her retirement from professional soccer at the end of this season. The journey that started in 2006 with USWNT saw her score 63 goals making it to the top 10. Known for her unique celebrations and Olimpico, Rapinoe will also complete 200 caps with USWNT in the World Cup.

Christen Press- 64

Debuted in 2013, Press has gone past Rapinoe in over 150 caps for USWNT, with 64 goals. Meanwhile, the 34-year-old isn’t part of the World Cup roster, and Rapinoe can go past her. She misses the tournament with a knee injury.

Cindy Parlow Cone- 75

In a career that spanned around eight years, Parlow Cone scored 75 goals. The former Portland Thorns boss, who won the first-ever NWSL with Thorns as manager, also has seven career hat-tricks. She finished her career with one hat trick less than all-time topper Mia Hamm. 

Tiffeny Milbrett- 100

The first star on the list with a triple figure scored a game-winning goal against China to land USWNT’s first Olympics Gold. Debuted in 1991, Milbrett is one of the few USWNT stars to cross 200 caps. 

Michelle Akers- 105

FIFA Female Player of the Century scored the first international goal of the USWNT against Denmark. Making the list of FIFA’s living players list, Akers was phenomenal in the nations’ 1991 and 1999 World Cup triumphs. The prolific goalscorer notched 105 goals in 155 appearances.

The name needs no introduction to this generation of fans. From a record 123rd-minute goal against Canada in the 2012 Olympics semifinal to the famous tea-sip celebration, Morgan gave some memories to cherish. She recently crossed 200 caps for the national team and will hope to add to her tally in Australia and New Zealand.

Kristine Lilly- 130

The 51-year-old is the most capped (354) player in soccer history, be it women’s or men’s. Lilly’s career spanned 23 years, which saw her notching 130 goals. The closest active player is Morgan, who needs nine goals to tie. 

Carli Lloyd- 134

Lloyd is another USWNT superstar to cross 300 international caps. The two-time FIFA Best Player of the Year notched 134 goals in 316 appearances. A 16-minute hat-trick in the 2015 World Cup and the highest-paid female soccer player (March 2021) are some highlights of her career.

Mia Hamm- 158

Another name after Akers that the late Pele included in the list of 125 living soccer players on the 100th anniversary of FIFA. The two-time FIFA Best Player of the Year is the second top-scorer for the US and third overall behind Abby Wambach and Christine Sinclair. With 144 assists, Hamm is the top assist provider for USWNT.

Abby Wambach- 184

Wambach leads the way for USWNT with 184 goals. A six-time US Soccer Athlete of the Year, Wambach scored her goals in 255 caps. She is the second-highest scorer behind Canada’s Christine Sinclair (190). Her impact saw Wambach making the Times’s Top 100 most influential list in 2015.
