US Soccer fans are celebrating again. Although it was almost understood, regardless, an official announcement is always better. Since the USMNT made their magical run in WC 2022, fans have had high expectations from the team. Stopping England at a goalless draw was a masterclass from the team. Expectations are at an all-time high but, they got a home advantage. USMNT will be playing in their home with unbelievable support from the stands and the confidence of the team will get a better outcome.
Except for the inevitable defeat in the round of 16, USMNT had made experts look in shock as they only conceded one goal and scored 2 in their group stage, and managed to qualify for the next round. The USA has plenty of time to develop young players and get better output from them. The only way USMNT will be able to make a deep run in a 48-team mega event will be if all their parts work like a well-oiled machine.

They will play the next edition of the World Cup in 2026 across 3 nations in 16 different host stadiums. This will truly be a mega-event. The addition of 16 additional spots means teams who are usually left behind in FIFA will have a chance to perform and gain immense experience. However, more teams also mean that the fight will be closer, and the margin of error is zero to none.
FIFA is hoping to make 2026 the grandest event in soccer history. The format is deduced as such that the total number of games will be increased from 64 in 2022 to 80 in 2026. More matches mean more ticket sales, more revenue, and more profit. For the USMNT fans, there is one more challenge that they will have to face before embarking on the project World Cup.

The last time Lionel Messi came face to face against USMNT, it was an embarrassing defeat for USMNT. The team looks different and has an ambitious future ahead of them, but taking Lionel Messi lightly should be the last thing on their agenda if they ever face it. Not only him, but the entire Argentinian soccer team looks scary after their world triumph.
