Juventus has made a massive ploy with the club securing the services of Aston Villa women star Alisha Lehmann. The move comes just days after the club confirmed the signing of her boyfriend, Douglas Luiz. This is a significant move for the couple, as they will be excited to take the next step in their career. However, every new chapter starts with a goodbye and sometimes it’s difficult to let go!

Lehman got quite emotional during her last training session with Aston Villa as the player poured her heart out. The Swiss superstar took to her social media handle to thank the club for giving her some of the best years of her career.

Taking to her Instagram, Alisha Lehmann stated, “An emotional goodbye, I wanna say thank you to my teammates, staff and, of course, the amazing fans. I spent the best 3 years so far of my career at this amazing club, and every single minute I enjoyed. Thank you for everything @avwfcofficial @avfcofficial ❤️ You will always have a special place in my heart, and of course, a part of me will be there forever. Thank you.”

Her teammate, Lucy Staniforth-Wilson, had an interesting goodbye message for Lehmann as she replied to the post. Wilson said, “I’ll never forget you crying because you were late for training. Thanks for the mems ❤️😂.”

She is currently in the United States with the player supporting her boyfriend during the ongoing Copa America. Alisha Lehmann and Douglas Luiz are expected to join their Bianconeri teammates following the international break.

Speculations about the reasons for this agreement, and conditions thereof, are already making rounds, with some suggesting that Juventus had to go for a joint package deal to secure Douglas Luiz for their squad.

Were Juventus forced into buying Alisha Lehmann?

There are a lot of things that go behind a transfer. Juventus made a big move to revamp their squad this summer as they secured Douglas Luiz’s signatures from Aston Villa. Despite getting stiff competition from Premier League side Arsenal, the Bianconeri were successful in landing the Brazilian. However, reports claim Luiz was not keen on switching clubs if his partner was not a part of the deal. While Arsenal did want the midfielder, the Gunners did not want to spend on Alisha Lehmann with their women’s team already packed with options in the attack and midfield.

Juventus, on the other hand, despite their initial disinterest in Lehmann, was, potentially, informed that her signature was an important part of signing Luiz. The club apart from their $45 million for Luiz was also forced to shell out $22 million for Alisha. It will be interesting to see what’s next for the couple after securing their dream move to Turin.
