With a history spanning over 76 years and being the second-biggest stadium in Spain, the Bernabeu has beaten archrival Camp Nou to grab the attention of Dana White, the president of the UFC, to host his tournament there. According to the report, White inquired about the capacity, asking, “How many people are coming in?” and was astonished with the answer.
When the reporters claimed it to be near 80 grand and 35,000 for some, White asked if they would accommodate his venture. After receiving a positive gesture, the entrepreneur continued, stating, “If there is an arena available, we will bring the UFC to Spain.” There are no specific reasons for choosing Madrid as an alternative venue, but White revealed that “I like it.” The 54-year-old expressed his displeasure with soccer earlier.
Back in the day, White undermined soccer, saying, “It’s the least-talented sport on Earth. There’s a reason three-year-olds can play soccer.” But he has now been attracted to the beautiful game’s most iconic stadium. The idea has lately gained high fuel from the blockbuster flyweight championship game between Alexander Volkanovski and Ilia Topuria.
Topuria, who won the title, hails from Spain and seems to be a huge fan of Santiago Bernabéu. The Spaniard has reported challenging the UFC’s all-time great Conor McGregor, saying, “It’s time for the UFC in Spain. Like McGregor, if you still have balls, I’ll see you in Spain.” expecting it to happen at the abode of Real Madrid. The stadium is, however, expected to be ready in some time but will take over by storm once done.

The stadium will also have new seating and a 360-degree digital scoreboard, along with many other entertaining facilities inside the arena. With all this, Real Madrid could be the privileged club that will see its Colosseum host the 2030 World Cup final.
