The mask was expected to help Kylian Mbappe be ready for the Netherlands game. Unfortunately, Didier Deschamps rested his star player for the crucial encounter. From then on, the game panned out exactly as the scriptwriters had hoped. The French lacked the creative spark to unlock the resolute Dutch defense. Next up in the group of death, France faces off against Poland. Will Mbappe be available for the tie? His teammate Kingsley Coman has offered an update on the Real Madrid star’s condition.

In the post-match interview, Kingsley Coman was asked about Kylian Mbappe’s nose. The Bayern Munich man replied, “It’s getting better,” and walked away with a laugh. However, the big talking point revolved around Kylian Mbappe’s former PSG teammate Xavi Simons. The Dutch midfielder had put the ball in the net after Memphis Depay’s effort was saved by Maignan. Kylian Mbappe won’t be able to play with his customized mask at the Euros!- here’s why

Following his nasty collision with Kevin Danso against Austria, a mask was prepared for Kylian Mbappe. The star forward was later spotted in training with a France-themed face mask. While soccer players like Victor Osimhen have been spotted with black masks, Mbappe took a more colorful approach. His mask had red, white, and blue in equal measure, just like the French flag. But, it seems UEFA’s rules prevent the mask from being used in the tournament.

According to UEFA, “Medical equipment (e.g. head protection, face-masks, casts, kneepads or knee braces, elbow pads): Medical equipment worn on the field of play must be a single color and free of team and manufacturer identification’, meaning that only single color masks can be used. Hence, it seems the French Federation might have to bid goodbye to the idea of Kylian Mbappe dazzling in their custom-themed mask.
