Owners and fans are pumped up for the game and are hopeful of another huge result. Wrexham beat Coventry in the third round and is the lowest-ranked team alive in the competition. Meanwhile, McElhenney has sent a warning to the fourth-round opponent ahead of the game.
Rob McElhenney sends a warning to Sheffield United
McElhenney loves the city of Sheffield but has warned the local club Sheffield United ahead of the game in the FA Cup. The co-owner of the Wrexham said, “They of course are the enemy now, and their tyrannical reign through the Championship must be stopped a la Goliath.”
Wrexham made a tremendous upset in the third round when they beat Coventry City FC 4-3. Coventry plays in Championship, second-division of English soccer, three tiers above the world’s third oldest club. They were up by 4-1 at one point in time but hold on to their lead after Coventry scored two goals toward the end.
The win impressed the owners, who have been putting efforts to improvise the club since the takeover in 2020. Wrexham community is happy with the star owners and recognizes their efforts. McElhenney and Reynolds wanted to buy a low-tier club and make it a force to reckon with in the world.
McElhenney was in love with Wrexham and its community and proposed to the Deadpool star to purchase the third-oldest club. Reynolds quickly approved the idea, and both completed the $2.5 million takeover. Wrexham narrowly missed the promotion in their first season as the owner but is on the right track this season.
