The USWNT can’t seem to catch a break after yet another draw in their final group game of the World Cup. With the game against Portugal ending in a goalless draw, Team USA managed to edge past Portugal in the group standing to make it into the knockouts.
However, fans and experts haven’t been impressed with the team at all, as the players were seen celebrating despite a draw. After scathing criticism from Carli Lloyd, the team has now been slammed by former Australian soccer star Catherine Cannuli, who labeled the team’s attitude “typical”.

“Typical USA arrogance, coming off that pitch. Coming off that group 2nd and still thinking they have got it all. That’s normal for you guys, right? Winning mentality, in the DNA, they have got it all, haven’t they?”
Earlier in the day, former USWNT captain Carli Lloyd questioned the team’s approach and called them lucky as they managed to avoid elimination as the ball hit the goalpost instead of going in.

Despite the USWNT making it into the knockout stages of the tournament, their performance in the ongoing edition of the tournament has been lackluster at most. While the team started off with a win over Vietnam, two poor games against Netherlands and Portugal has put the team under the scanner.
Experts have not liked how the team has functioned as a unit, with the team managing just 4 goals in their three games. If the team does not find their grove going ahead, with every game a do-or-die, the USWNT could take an early exit from the tournament.
