Rumors heavily linked Matarazzo to the USMNT, citing his equation with the German club Hoffenheim’s front office has turned sour. However, Matarazzo has snubbed the US suitors and will continue to coach Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga. Meanwhile, former English coach Gareth Southgate is also on the USSF’s radar.

However, Southgate has not spoken about a new coaching job since leaving England’s office after the loss against Spain in the UEFA Euro final.
