Indeed, it was quite a fairytale journey for the 35-year-old who has written his name in the history books. Aside from winning the award with his team, the player has also won numerous accolades. Ever since the player cemented his foot in soccer, he has won record laurels for himself.

Messi is one of the most decorated players in the history of soccer. The player has won countless awards, both collectively and personally. It seems that the Argentinian skipper doesn’t bother much about the awards. In fact, it has come to the point where Messi has gifted a personal award to one of his teammates.

Lionel Messi gifted his prestigious award to his Argentine teammate

The former Barcelona man has won so many awards that he probably doesn’t appear to have a space in his place for his trophies. This has even led to him gifting one of his awards to his national teammate, Leandro Paredes. The Juventus midfielder was recently seen showing cameras around his house.

Hence, the player also showed his trophy cabinet, where he was flexing a ball signed by all his teammates for the World Cup success. But there was a special award that was kept beside the ball. The award was a Liga 2020-21 Best Player award that Messi won. Paredes revealed the backstory of the award by saying, “He arrived in Paris, I asked him if he would give it to me, and he gave it to me.

This is simply the most typical Messi moment we have ever heard. Indeed, Parades must be happy to keep the special award to himself. However, there was a time when Messi was so angry with his teammate that it would have gotten Paredes killed.

Leandro Parades almost got killed by his captain

Parades had previously revealed that he almost got killed by Lionel Messi, during the clash between Barcelona and PSG in the Champions League. The former PSG midfielder revealed, “He got angry, because I had made a comment to my team-mates and he heard me, and he got angry. He became really angry. He f*cked me up. It was bad. He wanted to kill me and I wanted to go home.”
