On July 14th, the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) decided to go on strike due to skewed opportunities and fiscal packages. The advent of streaming platforms and the rise of AI is cited as the main reason behind this.

Since the Association took the decision, the entire Hollywood has come to a standstill. While this is a fight for equity, this has also resulted in a loss of work for the 160,000 members of the association. Hence SAG-AFTRA has set up a financial assistance program aimed at providing emergency aid to actors affected by the work stoppage.
