After 15 years of continuous efforts, Wrexham has achieved its long-awaited promotion. The Hollywood owners, Ryan Reynolds, and Rob McElhenney, kept their promise to help the Welsh side clinch promotion. The fortunes of the club have changed drastically, as they will now compete in the fourth division.
Of course, every member associated with the club is responsible for the team’s success. Be it the owners, the players, or the staff, everyone has played a colossal role in clinching the promotion. While the officials at the club have worked tirelessly off the pitch, on the pitch, the players have given everything.
Furthermore, the new signings that have been made since the Hollywood takeover have proven fruitful. In fact, the latest signing of Ben Foster was no less than a blessing. However, it seems the club now has more options to bolster their squad. Here are some of the top players Wrexham could aspire to sign ahead of next season.

Top Premier League free agents that Wrexham can sign
Under the ownership of Reynolds and McElhenney, over 18 signings have been made. These investments have somehow helped the club steer itself toward success. However, with a long road to the Premier League, the club has a chance to reinforce their squad. Recently, an Express Sport analyst shortlisted the top five free agents that Reynolds can sign.
The first name on the list is former Tottenham left-back, Danny Rose. After struggling with Watford, the 32-year-old still has a chance to give his best on the pitch. The next one on the list is yet another Spurs player, Tom Carroll. After leaving Ipswich, he has yet to find another club.
The third one is the former Leicester City star, Danny Drinkwater. The midfielder is without a club after he was released by Chelsea. Coming on to the fourth one is the former Liverpool winger, Jordan Ibe. Aged just 27, the player still has a lot to offer, as he last played for Adanaspor in Turkey. He hasn’t played regular soccer since the 2018/19 season.
The last player that Reynolds can sign is Fraizer Campbell. He was considered one of the hottest prospects in the Premier League. He is also without a club after playing for Huddersfield Town last season.
Either of these moves is unlikely to happen; however, they are not completely ruled out. But it seems both owners are completely focused on rather different targets as they are urging Bale to make a return to soccer.
Efforts to lure Gareth Bale continue
Wrexham made Ben Foster come out of retirement. This has given the club owners enormous confidence, as they are currently seducing Bale to un-retire as well. This comes after the former Madrid man sent a video message, thus congratulating McElhenney for his recent success.
To which McElhenney gave a cheeky reply. “Hey Gareth Bale, let’s play golf, where I totally won’t spend 4 hours trying to convince you to un-retire for one last magical season.” The conversation went further after Bale replied, “Depends what course.”

Reynolds also dipped his feet into the conversation, saying, “I will shave a professional-grade golf course into Rob’s back if you’ll give Wrexham a season.” It seems both are trying to lure Bale to come out of retirement and play for their club.
