Can Trinity Rodman bounce back stronger after this injury, or is this a career-defining setback?

The injury to Trinity Rodman became an issue for the Washington Spirit looking to challenge the Orlando Pride. Spearheading their attack, Rodman left the game due to a back spasm injury and will probably be out for weeks. As fans remain curious about her recovery time, we all want to know the injury updates of the talented USWNT star. Hence, we have new updates.

The player suffered a back spasm injury, and the physios took her out of the pitch in a wheelchair. Of course, it becomes disappointing for the supporters, hoping she returns to the pitch. Notably, Ella Brockway of the Washington Post updated the news on her X account regarding her comeback. The reports sound positive.

“Morning update via Trinity Rodman’s agent on her injury in last night’s Spirit game: She had an “intense back spasm.” Hopeful Rodman avoided “a very serious injury,” posted Brockway on her X account.

The player suffered the injury while shielding the ball from Kansas City Current’s Temwa Chawinga. In that process, she fell to the ground on her stomach and the physios had to intervene. Because of the player’s back spasms, the full extent of the injury cannot be disclosed without additional updates. Usually, the player shakes off the injury if it is not a severe back spasm. But if it did, it would probably take six to eight weeks for the player to get fully fit. Now that sparks trouble for the Washington Spirit.

Washington Spirit would welcome Trinity Rodman ASAP!

As of right now, Rodman keeps the Spirit up with her eight goals and six assists. She is an influential presence on the team and her creativity often provides the goals for the team. Meanwhile, they face Angel City next and a defeat in that match would surely end their title challenge in the NWSL. The Orlando Pride stays on top with 51 points, already carving out a seven-point gap. Therefore, it looks like the team needs to come together in her absence and perform admirably well.

As for the USWNT, they would surely miss her as well. If she was out for eight weeks, she could miss their matches against Iceland and Argentina. After making a name with Mallory Swanson and Sophia Smith by forming the ‘Triple Espresso,’ she remains the go-to-woman for the team in terms of creating chances. Her press upfront changes the entire dynamics of the team to defend as a team from the front.
