Manchester City finally achieved their UEFA Champions League dream while also completing the treble like a cherry on top. Pep Guardiola’s ace man, Erling Haaland, deserves a lot of credit for City’s exceptional season. Breaking records in his debut season with City, the Norwegian won the UEFA POTY and Premier League Player of the Season award. Critics and pundits hail the City star crediting him as the best player in Europe placing the Norwegian ahead of Kylian Mbappe and Jude Bellingham.
The City forward has been out of form since the last couple of games. Many have started doubting Haaland but one critic was vocal about his stance as he claimed that Haaland is still the best.

Soccer analyst Statman Dave and Fuad Cadani were in the Sky Sports box with the famous Sky Sports duo of Smithy and Joe. Dave was asked to rank Europe’s top ten players. Dave gave his ranking as the panel discussed if they agreed to it. To support his ranking, Dave stated points that he believed were arguable to give Erling Haaland the first position.
Statman Dave ranked Haaland first as he said, “I don’t think we can ignore that Haaland’s broken most records in the Premier League for most goals in a single season there’s just too much that Haaland’s done and this season he’s still scored eight he’s still top scorer in Premier League still got eight goals.”
Fuad Cadani, another soccer analyst, who had a slightly different opinion rated Rodri as the star player of City. Cadani also said that he feels the gap between Mbappe and Haaland is too big. Cadani said, “I would place Mbappe in place of Haaland”. The statement shocked Smithy and Joe as the discussion concluded. Kylian Mbappe has bagged 7 goals in Ligue 1 while Jude Bellingham has bagged 8 goals and 2 assists in La Liga.
Erling Haaland is going through a bit of a rough patch lately. City’s underwhelming performance against Arsenal saw the City forward receive more backlash. However, one critic explained the reason behind his drop in form and the low amount of goals.
