Just hours ago, Paris Saint-Germain lifted the Trophée des Champions trophy by defeating Toulouse 2-0. A brilliant first-half performance, including a three-minute strike from Lee Kang-in and a goal from Kylian Mbappe, was enough for the Parisians to defend their title. Adding a cherry on top of this emphatic victory was the French club’s new $14 million winter signing, who not only made his debut but left the fans ‘screaming’ every time he ‘touched the ball’.

While the club and its fans are delighted with the silverware win, Lucas Beraldo appears to be on cloud nine. The centre-back was lucky to get minutes after Milan Skriniar left the pitch in discomfort during the 71st-minute mark. Following the match, the 20-year-old talked about his debut, insisting he is ‘happy’ over his debut as he didn’t even ‘imagine’ getting minutes from Luis Enrique today.

“I didn’t know if I was going to be summoned or not. And God gave me the opportunity to play and have a title in my first match, I don’t think there’s a way to explain that feeling,” he said on PSG’s official media outlet.

The defender also acknowledged Parc des Princes supporters for their overwhelming response. “Yes, the fans were screaming every time I touched the ball. I can only thank them. Then, as I already said in an interview, I had already been here in 2009, I had seen a match from the stands and today, I can play with all my idols on the pitch. there is nothing else to say. I can’t be grateful enough for that, you just have to enjoy it.” Indeed, it’s good to see Beraldo enjoy his first minutes in the PSG shirt. Meanwhile, Mbappe also managed to write his name in PSG’s history books.

Kylian Mbappe breaks another record

Kylian Mbappe claimed the title of all-time leading scorer at the Parc des Princes with his 111th goal against Toulouse in the 44th minute during last night’s victory. Surpassing former teammate Edinson Cavani’s tally of 110 goals, accumulated from 2013 to 2020, the 24-year-old achieved this milestone in his seventh season with the club.

All of these goals have been scored against 42 different opponents. Either way, this is quite a remarkable achievement for Mbappe. Notably, he is currently leading the Ligue 1 top scorer charts with 18 goals and has also notched three assists in 16 games. Mbappe has also bagged three goals in the Champions League this season.
