The show Ted Lasso never fails to amaze fans. From a fictional coach who tries to apply the concepts of American football to soccer, Jason Sudeikis does a tidy job of guiding his team to perfection. Lacking tactical prowess, he oozes charisma, which takes him and AFC Richmond to greater heights. Moreover, the show connects to the real soccer world with various cross-connections. Out of that, one of the famous scenes in Ted Lasso was how the Director of Communications at AFC Richmond bantered Ryan Reynolds and Wrexham. The incident happened in 2021.
In one particular scene, Higgins took a dig at Reynolds for running his real-life club, Wrexham. The scene was hilarious. Ryan naturally took to Twitter to explain his thoughts and demanded an apology in the form of something special. Talk about fiction and non-fiction joining hands to produce witty content. Now that is talent!

After hearing the banter, Reynolds took to Twitter to open his mind about the show. He captioned it, “Enough is enough, @TedLasso & @AppleTV.” Soon after, he posted a picture of his statement regarding the incident. The situation became similar to WWE blending kayfabe into reality. Nonetheless, Ryan burned some words.

He stated how AFC Richmond owner Rebecca Welton’s assistant, Terry Higgins, questioned Reynolds’ methods of running the soccer club. Ryan also cited how, despite respecting Higgins, issued a warning for Apple TV+ not to pass comments on Ryan and Rob’s commitment to the club. He stated, “We must insist that you cease and desist from the casting of any doubt regarding our commitment to the club, the fans, and the entire Wrexham community.”
Because of that, Ryan wanted a secret delicacy from the show. He continued, “To avoid any legal action please send 2 LARGE boxes of Ted Lasso’s biscuits.” The joke connection is hilarious, and the fans enjoyed the Deadpool star’s humorous response. In the end, they actually gave him the box of biscuits!

As Ted Lasso is an incredible tv show, Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney ventured into a tv show of their own, ‘Welcome to Wrexham.’ Jokingly questioning their commitment to the club, Reynolds bridged the gap between the fans and the soccer club and created a sensational tv show. The show focused on the devotion and desire of the owners, players, and fans to take the club forward.
