The separation between Shakira and Gerard Pique has been far from amicable. After the couple declared their separation in June 2022, numerous delicate and sensational controversies occurred. Clara Chia Marti, a 24-year-old Spaniard and Pique’s current girlfriend is especially at the center of this narrative. She is the one the ex-Barcelona star had an affair with prior to the breakup.
Both women have been vocal about the situation; often taking subtle digs at each other in public. In light of this, let’s take a look at every time Clara Chia Marti and Shakira publicly criticized one another.

Gerard Pique has attempted to keep his relationship with Clara Chia Marti quiet ever since the breakup. Despite the fact that few paparazzi got a brief look at the couple hanging out together, the couple never formally affirmed anything. All that changed when, at the end of January, Pique posted an Instagram pic with Clara going social media official.

Naturally, it drew quite a bit of attention, including some scrutiny from Shakira fans. The picture also prompted a response from the Latin singer. Shakira took to Instagram to share a dance video of her lip-synching her famous diss track ‘BZRP Music Session #53’.

Along with it, she wrote a caption – “Las mujeres ya no lloran las mujeres bailan merengue”. This translates to, “Women no longer cry; women dance merengue” which alludes to the diss track’s lyrical content, “Women no longer cry; women cash in”. Clearly, Shakira isn’t one for subtleties!
Clara Chia Marti made offensive nicknames for Shakira
Fans might think that the drama couldn’t get any worse, but it turned out that Clara Chia Marti and her friends reportedly called Shakira names that are very offensive. A new wave of controversy swirled in April when it was reported that Clara Chia and her friends had allegedly given Shakira deeply disparaging titles.
Although Clara Chia Marti has kept largely quiet on the subject, a prominent journalist brought attention to the issue by noting that Shakira had been assigned derogatory nicknames after discovering that Clara Chia is nicknamed “dead fly” by the Colombian singer. Roberto Antolin revealed that this retaliation included insults such as “old”, “witch” and “menopausal”.
Shakira’s legal actions against Clara Chia regarding her children
From the moment of their separation, Shakira has devoted her love and attention to Milan and Sasha. The kids have also had it rough since the separation of their parents. Shakira, however, won custody of them and in April moved with the two from Barcelona to Miami.
Concurring with an agreement made between the two parties, Pique is still able to visit his children up to 10 days a month; yet Shakira went out of her way to make sure that Pique’s significant other, Clara Chia Marti, is kept away from her kids.
Reports state that “Shakira’s team will try to ensure that Chía Martí does not travel to the United States and cannot enjoy her time with Gerard, Milan, and Sasha, as is the objective of the defenders (of the businessman)”. This protectiveness on behalf of Shakira is certainly understandable considering the magnitude of the split saga and what role Clara played therein.
Shakira slammed Gerard Pique and his girlfriend through her diss track
The diss tracks Shakira released about her ex and his current girlfriend, are without a doubt the main highlight of this drama. Released in January 2023 and produced with Argentine producer Bizzarap, ‘BZRP Music Session #53’ headlines across the world with scathing lyrics targeting her ex and his new girlfriend.

From calling the former name Clara Chia the “name of a good person | It’s clearly not what it sounds like” to mocking Pique with jabs such as “You traded a Ferrari for a Twingo | You traded a Rolex for a Casio”, Shakira had no qualms in sharing her displeasure. But it didn’t end there. If one track wasn’t enough to satisfy her fury, Shakira released another diss track – titled “TQG”, in collaboration with fellow Latin singer Karol G.

This time, the lyrics took sharper digs at the couple with lines like “No hard feelings baby, I wish you the best with my supposed replacement” and “I saw what your girlfriend threw at me. That doesn’t even make me angry, I laugh, I laugh”, serving as a clear indication of her dissatisfaction with the situation.
