Neymar and his flair is not limited to the pitch. The Brazilian, known for his fashion choices, doesn’t shy away from sporting new and rather eccentric hairstyles either. Sometimes, however, fans are unable to comprehend the meaning behind these changes. In the past too, the Al Hilal player has unintentionally triggered fans with his perplexing hairstyles.

The Brazil No. 10 is currently on the road to recovery. It is believed that Neymar’s recovery will take considerable time and rehabilitation, as he is expected to be back before the Copa America 2024. To get his mind off the injury and try something new, Neymar is now donning a shaved head look.

Pele once gave his take on a young Neymar during his time at Santos. The Brazil icon stated that the young forward has exceptional talent but needs to focus more on the game rather than his hairstyles. Neymar’s agent, Wagner Ribeiro, later penned a response to Pele. In his response, he tagged Pele’s remarks as nothing but jealously and sarcastically advised the aged icon to concentrate more on his life and look after his grandchildren.

In 2014, the soccer star was caught amidst a hairstyle controversy yet again. After the opening World Cup game win, Neymar flew his hairdresser for a change in look, taking a break from his curls. Along with him was Dani Alves, and the duo got a lot of heat from soccer pundits and supporters for not concentrating on their World Cup campaign. The forward also attracted heat for similar reasons in the 2018 World Cup.

During the 2018 World Cup, Neymar donned blonde curly hair with a mop like hairstyle in the front. This attracted a series of responses, with fans claiming that the llama, a sacred animal in Brazil, was the inspiration behind the hairstyle. After multiple requests, the soccer star eventually cut the front portion of his hair.

In a list of rather strange and different hairstyles, there have been two major fails for Neymar that stand out from the rest. During his PSG days, much to the distaste of fans, the Brazilian maestro sported bright pink hair, the color of which faded over the time, eventually prompting Neymar to shave it all away.

Neymar sporting dreads using extensions is, perhaps, the worst of the bunch. During the first match in his new Caribbean inspired hairstyle, three dreads fell off. And after some negative feedback, the soccer star decided to get rid of them altogether.
