The English Premier League has resumed with a banger. One such exciting game, in particular, was the derby game between Crystal Palace and Fulham. Fulham won the game comprehensively after a stellar performance from Serbian striker Aleksandar Mitrović.

35-year-old defender, Tim Ream, was another player who had one of the best games of his lifetime. The goal became the perfect ‘cherry on the cake’ moment after the defender signed a new one-year extension with Fulham.
Tim Ream scores the first EPL goal!
Crystal Palace didn’t have the best game, either. The Eagles did not have the best of comebacks to their campaign in the Premier League. Fulham opened their account with a firm header by Bobby Reid into the back of the net. The cross delivered by Mitrović was duly slotted home.
The Eagles then received two red cards that pretty much wrapped up the game. A nine-manned Palace team found it close to impossible to try and find some momentum to equalize. Tim Ream then pilled on their misery, sealing the game by scoring the team’s second goal. Serbian striker Aleksandar Mitrović then added to their misery by slotting in the third goal in quick succession.
Social media can sometimes be the best and most heart-warming place ever. The American fans sent out all the love possible to Tim Ream. One fan also went on to call the veteran ‘The American Man Bun’. Let’s have a look at how some of the other fans reacted.

Tim Ream has been in the best form of his life the last few months. He’ll be 38 at the World Cup in 2026 but if he keeps this up he might have a spot. Unreal. https://t.co/JqT2juPW54

Most of the fan reactions were happy ones. Fans were delighted with the 35-year-old defender and his recent performances for club and country.
Ream’s recent FIFA World Cup successes and contract extension
Ream had quite a decent FIFA World Cup campaign as well. After being a regular starter for Fulham, expecting a call-up to play for the USMNT was a complete no-brainer. Even though the USMNT’s campaign didn’t last as long as expected, Ream still clocked in consistent performances for his country.
The USMNT veteran defender signed for Fulham in 2015. Since then, it’s been quite a rollercoaster of a journey at Craven Cottage. Ream has been with the club through thick and thin. The 35-year-old defender has seen Fulham get promoted into the top flight of English thrice during his eight-year tenure at the club.

After signing a one-year extension with the club, Fulham and Ream will both hope to spend Ream’s last season in the Premier League. Playing consistently in a club like Fulham is challenging because of their ‘yo-yo’ status. Clubs like Fulham keep dropping out and coming back to the Premier League after a few years.
