The recent humiliation against Cristiano Ronaldo and Co. in the Al Nassr game had almost gotten him ready to quit Al Ittihad. As per current reports, the star has reconsidered his stance just days after issuing a sort of ultimatum to the upper management.

The decision to move from Real Madrid came when he could have chosen to continue in his comfort zone. Karim Benzema took a chance with a different challenge of maintaining Al Ittihad’s reputation as the Saudi Pro League champions. Karim Benzema reconsiders moving out of Al Ittihad, why?

For the last few days, Karim Benzema’s frustration has been clearly evident. After losing 2-5 to Al Nassr, in came a tsunami of criticism forcing the Frenchman to delete his Instagram account. Looking at things, the future of the player at the club looked uncertain too. Nevertheless, the player will stay at the club, as per Jose Felix Diaz. He said, “Benzema is staying with Al Ittihad, and sources close to the player confirm that the team will change many players.” revealing more about the club’s situation.

Karim Benzema has had good individual performances while contributing with 12 goals and 5 assists this season. But the team, on the other hand, is suffering at #7 on the points table. Their lethal striker signed a two-and-a-half-year deal worth more than $200 million with a long roadmap of success planned. However, after their early exit from the Club World Cup to Al Ahly, the Jeddah club seems to be out of contention in the Saudi Pro League too. This may now be leading to the club laying off quite a few players. But it looks like Karim Benzema is nowhere close to moving out.

Why did Benzema show signs of leaving Al-Ittihad?

The French star, apart from the Instagram account deletion, showed other signs of displeasure too. Karim Benzema did not attend training sessions after the game against Al Nassr. The wider issue was that the player was not happy with the quality of the squad. According to reports, Benzema warned the club, by saying, “Either bring new players to the team or I will not return.”

Apart from himself, goalscorers like Abderrazak Hamdallah, and Igor Coronado, haven’t received the same amount of criticism despite being on the same team.
