It’s always disheartening to hear about athletes going through injuries and career-jeopardizing medical situations. Likewise, one former Manchester City star is set to undergo surgery as he faces a career-ending medical condition.
According to reports, Preston North End FC’s striker Ched Evans is out for at least the rest of the season. He would take more time to recover. The Welsh superstar has played around 14 years of top and 2nd top-tier soccer. He has previously played for teams like Sheffield United. Evans also featured in 16 matches for Manchester City at the beginning of his career.
Evans’ club released an article discussing the condition. According to them, repeated high-force contact causes the medical condition. This condition is common among the players of Rugby and the NFL. According to the articles, the surgery will prevent any further harm to him if he continues to play.

Absolutely gutted for him… has become a mainstay in the team after a difficult and unconvincing start – difficult to see where we go from here as a club but have to hope Ched makes a full recovery and is back doing what he does best… being a shithouse #pnefc https://t.co/gjyhEKDbaf

Among many others, Preston’s manager Ryan Lowe penned down a very heartfelt message. He said, “We’ll be there for him every single day, whatever he needs we’ll be there for him and the family. It’s been tough for me, the staff, and the players because it’s a bit sickening when you get that news in the blink of an eye.”
Lowe continued, “More importantly for me as the manager it’s about Ched’s health. We’ve got to step back and let him decide what he wants to do. He’ll have to decide what he wants to do with his future and whatever he chooses to do we’ll back him 100%.
