For Leo Messi, it was always about comfort and family after he left Paris Saint-Germain. Despite Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal offering the Argentine icon a whopping $1,500,000,000 in wages, Messi in the end, chose Inter Miami and to move to the MLS because he felt that it would be the best decision for his family.
Messi has been vocal about choosing America as his new destination and with good reason. The former Barcelona and PSG icon has taken to the US like a fish to water. It’s clear that the soccer legend is enjoying his soccer and his move to the MLS.

Since joining the David Beckham-owned franchise, Messi has made it no secret that he’s enjoying life in America and that he’s happy playing in the country. Despite some difficulty in finding a suitable home to live in with his family, the Argentine soccer superstar is by and large comfortable, settling well and enjoying life in the US.
Following Inter Miami’s US Open Cup semi-final win against Cincinnati, Messi spoke to the media, specifically Apple TV, to reflect on choosing to play in Miami.
According to this tweet by MLS journalist Favian Renkel, Messi said via Apple TV, “Looking back after a little while. This place [of Miami], we did not make a mistake when we decided that this place was the best for us.”
Apple TV recently uploaded an interview "One-on-One With Messi" and this is what Messi had to say reflecting about choosing to play in Miami:

Messi has also suggested that he’s extremely “happy” with his decision to move to the MLS. Speaking earlier regarding his move to America, according to Yahoo Sports via CNN, Messi said, “We were convinced we wanted to come here, and the people made it very easy. The people in the club and the people I see day to day in the streets and the amazing city. It makes living here very easy and happy,”
It’s certain that Messi is adapting well and enjoying life and soccer in America. And he has led Inter Miami to instant success since his transfer from PSG this summer.
Inter Miami and Messi beat Cincinnati in thrilling cup semi-final
Inter Miami won a nail-biting semi-final in the US Open Cup earlier yesterday. Cincinnati went up by two goals courtesy of Luciano Acosta and Brandon Vasquez in the 18th and 53rd minute. However, Miami struck back through Leonardo Campana in the 68th minute after Messi assisted from a set piece for Campana to head into the net.

Miami looked down and out and neared an exit as the game went into injury time post-90 mins. But again, the mercurial Messi provided another assist via a delightful curling ball to Campana, who emphatically headed in deep into stoppage time in the 90+8′ minute.

The game went to extra time and Josef Martinez put Miami in the lead in the 93rd minute of extra time. But Cincinnati hit back through Yaya Kubo in the 113th minute. The match proceeded to penalties with Inter Miami narrowly edging it 5-4. What’s perhaps rather interesting stat is that the Argentine World Cup winner had never won a penalty shootout at club level in his career, but he’s won three on the trot in the US.
