Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have garnered significant attention in the soccer world. Both have been in the public eye for quite some time for their recent achievements with Wrexham. From singing players to splurging cash on renovating the stadium, the actors treated the club like their children.
Not only he won the promotion alongside the men’s team but also the women’s team also impressed out there. They were the first ones to hand over silverware to Reynolds, thanks to their brilliant performance. Following the season’s end, they went on to participate in a friendly tournament that is happening in the United States.
While in their latest fixture, they managed to impress out there, the opposition team player had a blunt message for the owners.

Former FIFA Women’s World Cup winner had a message for Wrexham owners
Earlier, Reynolds and McElhenney managed to get themselves registered for a unique soccer tournament. They were in contention to face 31 other seven-a-side teams in North Carolina, with the owners registering themselves in Wrexham’s squad for the tournament. Unfortunately, both couldn’t make it to the pitch.

Their absence wasn’t taken well by a former FIFA Women’s World Cup winner, Heather O’Reilly. The former USWNT star was playing against Wrexham with her team. And just before the match, she had a very forthright message for Reynolds and McElhenney. The WNT veteran shouted, “This message is for Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney. One, you should be here right now with your squad. Two, your team, about to go down in North Carolina.” She ended her intimation by saying, “Let’s go. Let’s go, USA.”
Indeed, it was quite a strong message for both owners. Moreover, it was also an ultimatum for Wrexham before the game. Reynolds and McElhenney must have heard the message loud and clear. Unfortunately, O’Reilly’s message backfired on her as her side got thumped 12-0!
Red Dragons thrashed US women
The message from O’Reilly was a strong one, but it failed to fulfill its motive to take down Wrexham. Instead, the Red Dragons gave the reply on their owner’s behalf. The US women got thrashed 12-0 by Wrexham. Lee Trundle scored four goals in the process, with Danny Jarvis bagging a hat-trick for himself.

George Boyd and Wrexham forward Louis Lloyd added two goals, with Serbian star Filip Mirkovic adding one for himself. Indeed, it was quite a match, as they were able to thrash them with such a score. As for Heather O’Reilly, she must be rethinking her “about to go down” words. Be that as it may, it was merely a friendly message from the WNT star.
