Pep Guardiola has made a legacy for himself wherever he has managed. Hence, this raises the question that who is the perfect person to replace him at the Etihad. Analyst, Guillem Balague has backed Brighton’s Roberto De Zerbi. He said, “They speak for hours. They speak a language that only they two understand. When they talk, everybody leaves the room after half an hour because they don’t understand what they’re talking about. Pep, I think, understands that’s the guy, so I think he could end up being his replacement at City”.

Several experts have also praised De Zerbi for his brilliant managerial skills. He helped Brighton finish its season in the European seats. This season, before the two veteran tacticians clashed, Pep Guardiola heaped praise on the Italian. He said, “I’m a spectator mainly as a manager and I enjoy a lot watching his teams play, I learn, like it and what he does makes sense. Pep Guardiola is open to extending his Manchester City contract

In 2022, Manchester City announced that Pep Guardiola had extended his contract until 2025. Despite the official announcement, there were many speculations about his early exit. Now, in a press conference, he has indicated that he is ready to further extend his stay. In fact, he’s never displayed any sort of sour emotion towards the club.

The Spanish manager has also made his intentions clear to stick with the club as they deal with the 115 financial fair play charges against them. The Premier League expects a decision before the end of the 2024-25 season. If any sort of financial or other penalty is enforced upon the club, the Spaniard has made it clear that he will stick with the club should they even get relegated to League One.
