The Latin American singer will be winning the inaugural edition of the award. A few hours ago, the singer reacted to the upcoming achievement on her Instagram.

Shakira to win a massive award from Billboard!

About a day ago, Billboard made a special announcement for ‘Team Shakira’. Billboard announced that she will be the first-ever ‘Latin Woman of the Year’. As per Billboard’s public statement, Goyo, Emilia, Ana Gabriel, Evaluna, and Thalia will receive special awards during the same event. This new award is to celebrate Latin female artists who are working towards gender parity, positive change, and inclusion.

In response, the Waka–Waka singer posted a story about the upcoming achievement on Instagram. She wrote, “This is such an honor, thank you so much! See you guys May 6th”.

Billboard’s chief Content Officer for Latin wrote, “Shakira is the ultimate Woman in Music. Thanks to her, Latin women all over the world have been empowered to write and perform deeply personal music…She is the definition of a Woman in Music”, as per the public statement. Without a doubt, the Waka–Waka singer has changed the true meaning and perspective of a diss track.

Weeks ago, after her performance on Jimmy Fallon’s television show, the Guinness Book of World Records had a lot to present Shakira with. The Latin American singer had successfully managed to break fourteen world records. Four of them were with Bizarrap, and the other ten were all by herself. Her official music video with the Argentine DJ is currently on 522 million views on YouTube.

Through just her collaboration with Bizarrap, the singer managed to make more than $2.5 million. She didn’t just stop there. Following that, she composed another diss track, this time with Karol G, a fellow Colombian singer. In recent times, Shakira has relocated to America with her close family in order to start a new life.
