Alex Morgan highlights the importance of the SheBelieves Cup
While speaking to NBC Sports, the USWNT star made her feelings clear on the importance of the SheBelieves Cup. The forward believes it will help the team and the coach to know where the team stands.
Morgan said, “This is a huge tournament for us to continue building the momentum. But, also, it’s a way to replicate a group stage or a playoff stage of a World Cup. And I think having different opponents that we do in Japan, Brazil, and Canada, those are very different styles that we will likely see in the World Cup.”

“So it’s just a great practice tournament for us to make sure that we are doing the things that we need to do that our coach wants us to implement, and kind of taking that next step forward as we move on this journey to the World Cup,” Morgan further added.
There are several women’s tournaments taking place this month. It might be the last big chance for the teams to prepare for the World Cup by playing against the top teams. USWNT are playing against worthy opponents in the SheBelieves Cup, as they are ranked in the top 11. It will give a great idea to coach Vlatko Andonovski on his roster selection for the World Cup.
