According to Eltrece, a famous journalist named Nelson Castro looked back at the agonizing moment when Beckham’s kids cried after seeing their hero succumb to Germany in the 2014 World Cup final. Sitting beside Beckham and his family, Castro explained how his kids donned Argentinean jerseys in support of Messi. Castro explained, “I was with three boys dressed in the Argentina shirt and the tricorn, that beanie with spikes that are used in the World Cups.” After Argentina lost the game, Beckham mentioned, “What a drama, what a drama.” As the game went into extra time, Germany’s Mario Gotze scored the goal to win Germany’s fourth World Cup. 

Many Argentinian fans poured out their emotions after the devastating loss. Beckham’s kids were left teary-eyed as well. Castro continued, “‘My children are fans of Lionel Messi. Look how they cry,’ he said. “And when we saw, they were crying uncontrollably. It was impressive. Beckham told us that he was devastated.”
