Moments ago, Inter Miami played its second pre-season game against FC Dallas. The banners of “Don’t Mess(i) with Texas” being raised high at the Cotton Bowl Stadium seem to have done their trick, as in a surprising turn of events, Lionel Messi and his team suffered a narrow defeat. Despite the presence of the formidable ex-Barcelona quartet, including La Pulga, Luis Suarez, Jordi Alba, and Sergio Busquets, the Herons couldn’t clinch a victory, which has ignited a fervent reaction within the soccer community.
It wasn’t a great start for the Herons, as Dallas took the lead within 3 minutes, thanks to Jesus Ferriera’s strike. However, that came at the cost of losing the goal-scorer due to the injury, just moments before the break. Meanwhile, both Lionel Messi and Suarez tried to find goals in the first 45 minutes and the 20 additional minutes of the second half. However, luck wasn’t in the duo’s favor today, as they were eventually subbed.
Notably, Lionel Messi had two great goal-scoring opportunities where he attempted a goal directly from the corner and a great link-up with Busquets. However, the ball couldn’t seem to move past the opposition keeper. He even made a brilliant connection with Suarez, who unfortunately couldn’t convert.

Evidently, this transfer task is still on the back burner.
Sign some defenders bruh

The defense didn’t communicate well with the midfield!
Obviously it’s just preseason and it just started but the whole team is a step off and not in Ruth with each other yet. The defense needs better communication and ball playing skills. There is little to no link from def to mid just out to the wing and circulating back to keeper

Looks like veterans aren’t doing their jobs, which pushes fans to urge younger players.
Looks like they might want to take the retirees off the pitch and put some youth on there.

Is Lionel Messi’s performance being affected by the remaining 10 players?
Messi doesn’t deserve this terrible team

The pre-season tour so far suggests it’s the same old story for Inter Miami. Just days ago, they had drawn a stalemate against El Salvador. The Florida-based club did not return home with a convincing scoreline. Clearly, Tata Martino and Co. need to strategize surrounding the SWOT analysis of the team. After all, there isn’t much time until the new season kicks off.
The idea of signing a new center-back is still in the plans. Likewise, the Herons must find alternatives to players who are not performing. Another agenda that Tata Martino seems to have not fully implemented is playing a style of gameplay that suits both Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez and compliments their goal-scoring prowess. This would help either of them start delivering upfront.
