“They Inject Me With an Indescribable Strength” – After Publicly Pleading for Privacy, Gerard Pique’s Ex Shakira Divulges on Kids’ Importance in Her Life

On multiple occasions, Shakira has admitted that her kids have always been her top priority. The Waka–Waka singer has two sons with Gerard Pique. But the celebrity couple are no longer together. Back in December, the singer managed to win custody of her children. Since then, they’ve been living with her. Recently, she reiterated their importance in her life and how they still fill her life with joy.

Currently, as a single mother, Shakira is working hard for the well-being and stability in their lives, especially her kids. Along with that, she also needs to take care of her aging parents.

Shakira is “rebuilding the nest” for her kids who strengthen her

In April, Shakira relocated to Miami with her children. She had been living in Spain for quite a few years. But after her split with Gerard Pique, the singer got into an ugly controversy with him. Due to that, the paparazzi and media’s focus was solely on the former celebrity couple. In dire need of privacy, she decided to move out of the country once and for all.

After moving out of Spain it does seem like they have started afresh. The Colombian icon admits it too. During an exclusive conversation with People En Espanol, she had a lot to say about her little ones. The singer said, “They are everything to me; they are my reason to live. They inject me with an indescribable strength every day, and they fill my day-to-day with joy.”

“I have little free time. I have had to devote myself this year to fighting to keep my kids afloat, my parents, and my new life outside of Spain. To provide a new home for my kids”. She concluded, “The rest of the time, I’m with them and all about them, working to provide them with a structure that brings them stability. Little by little, I am achieving that, rebuilding the nest”.

Life has now become less difficult for the Latin American singer and her children. But even after moving to Miami, the paparazzi were still eager to capture snippets of Shakira and her kids.

Shakira’s ongoing concern surrounding media interference

Just hours after landing in the US, the Waka–Waka singer released a public statement. She mainly addressed it to the media channels and the notorious paparazzi. She requested all of them to give her family some privacy, especially Milan and Sasha. Shakira admitted that she was not writing that message as a singer but as a mother who wanted to protect her kids.

Back in May, a report revealed that the Colombian icon was tired of constant interference from the media. Reportedly, the media pressure had become severely unbearable. At one point, the singer was looking for a new home in Fisher Island but that seemingly hasn’t panned out. Currently rumored to be dating Lewis Hamilton, will the singer accept a new relationship while keeping in mind her kid’s wellbeing?
