The Portuguese have made it to the pinnacle from very humble backgrounds. He has been subject to criticism throughout his career for being self-centered. But after the explosive interview with Piers Morgan, the critics of the player have kept increasing.
Former Portuguese manager Manuel Jose is a recent addition to the critics of the Al Nassr forward. He criticized Ronaldo for his recent fresh air claims, labeling him greedy and selfish. However, as usual, the Portuguese’s sister has come out and hit back at Jose for his recent criticism.
Cristiano Ronaldo’s sister hits back
The new Portugal manager selected Cristiano Ronaldo for the recent Euro 2024 qualifiers. It ended the speculation over the Al Nassr forward’s Portugal future. Roberto Martinez named the forward despite of his age, and Portuguese recently claimed it’s a breath of fresh air under the new manager.
However, his claims received criticism from former Sporting CP manager Manuel Jose. Manuel Jose claimed that Ronaldo’s removal from the national team would bring fresh air. Jose claimed further he behaved poorly with former Portugal manager Fernando Santos, labeling him selfish and egoistic.
The former Al-Ittihad manager didn’t stop there and said the Al Nassr forward is greedy for money. Meanwhile, Elma Aveiro, the sister of Cristiano Ronaldo, wasn’t impressed with the criticism. She has always been there to support her brother whenever someone criticizes Ronaldo.
Aveiro said, “The joke of the day. They still give credibility to these old men who are already outdated, of so many nonsense that they say. Poor thing, you don’t know what you say anymore,” while criticizing Jose.

Ronaldo, who recently claimed he considered retirement, made it to the Portugal roster for the Euro 2024 qualifiers, despite of torrid FIFA World Cup. Martinez was clear in his idea of selecting Ronaldo that he would not only help the team on the ground, but his leadership ability would also come in handy.
Ronaldo didn’t disappoint Martinez and scored four goals in two games. His brace against Liechtenstein and Luxembourg helped Portugal get big wins from both games in Group J of Euro qualifiers. He also became the player with the most international caps. Ronaldo will hope to continue his goal-scoring form this season to help his new club, Al Nassr, win Saudi Pro League.
