It was just six months ago when Luis Suarez‘s potential move to Inter Miami broke down because of his commitment to Gremio. The star was not ready to get distracted, saying, “I didn’t want to know anything until the Brasileirao was over.” The player has now reunited with his best friend, Lionel Messi, whose presence was considered the main reason for him to join. However, the Uruguayan has recently given the real reason for his move to the MLS.

The player had to cut his spell short in Brazil, citing severe leg pain. Nevertheless, Suarez is still hungry to contribute. After assisting the 2nd goal in the win against Real Salt Lake, he revealed the reason for his move. The 37-year-old said, “I think there is no better ambition and desire to come to a team that has won its first title last year and tried to win the MLS, which is the title the club did not win. And that is why it’s the desire and the challenge that we have,” demonstrating his passion.

Meanwhile, it’s evident that the player has lost a bit of mojo with decreasing speed and finishing abilities. Having arthritis, Suarez takes pills to keep his pain away. The player, despite the suffering, scored 26 goals last season for the Brazilian club, enabling them to finish second in the league and qualify for the Copa Libertadores this year.

But he still hasn’t lost his grit. The Uruguayan, along with Lionel Messi, played an important role today in today’s 2-0 win over Real Salt Lake. After disappointing preseason friendlies, Suarez feels that the team still can go the distance.

Luis Suarez is aware of the threats while challenging for the title

Luis Suarez feels that many teams would first target them. Speaking further, he said, “I also believe that all the teams want to beat you; all the teams are going to come and compete with you because we are one of those who can be fighting for the title. They know that we want that, we have that ambition.” David Beckham’s team, on the other hand, is also facing a few other challenges.

Earlier this year, the club lost one of its key players, Facundo Farias, due to injury. Additionally, the team was under pressure to meet roster compliance, leading to the exit of midfielder Gregore. And despite all the setbacks, the Herons remain one of the favorites for the title this year.
