Moreover, there will be the pressure of playing against a high-profile club, Wrexham. The world will be watching the game thanks to the Reds’ owners, Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.

But Dons’ boss, Alexander, is unfazed with all the focus on Wrexham and wants his players to create their own noise. While speaking ahead of the game, he said, “We have to create our own noise. I don’t want us to compare ourselves to anyone else. We have to overcome every opponent we play.” He also hailed the investment made by Reynolds and McElhenney into the Reds and talked about the pressure at the high-profile club. Alexander added, “I have been there at a club where it’s got a high profile, and the spotlights on, and you have to thrive under it.”

Alexander said, “It’s not just Wrexham versus MK Dons on Saturday and just the people that are involved in those two clubs. I think there’ll be a worldwide audience. So, that’s the thing for us as a club and our players and our supporters that are traveling in numbers to go there and show it to our competitors. That’s what we have to try and do,” speaking about the game.

However, MK Dons’ boss thinks the world’s third-oldest soccer club has managed those expectations really well over the last couple of years. He feels the excitement in League Two will be high with the Reds in it.

Alexander and his boys will have work cut out at the weekend. They will visit the Racecourse, where Wrexham remained unbeaten throughout the last season. Moreover, the club is on 37 games unbeaten run at SToK Cae Ras and will look to extend its record. The only respite for Dons is the absence of Paul Mullin. But the Red Dragons have a squad to create upset and bag all three points.
