Apart from their players, managers, or even owners, if a team like Manchester United is incredibly successful, then it is because of the acceptance and support from their fans. But what if any team starts losing the support of their fans? Probably the same is happening with the Premier League giants Manchester United and club legend David Beckham has something to say about this.
Notably, Under Sir Alex Ferguson, Man United decimated England and the whole of Europe for two decades. But because of some poor ownership, the English club has failed to win their fans’ trust. Beckham recently jumped into the matter to discuss the glaring issues.

David Beckham believes Manchester United should be sold!
Dubbed one of the most passionate fan bases in the world, United fell down the ladder in recent years to their rivals, Manchester City and Liverpool. These two clubs have ruled the English Premier League in recent years. The reluctance of the Red Devils to spend while not maintaining the infrastructure has left many unhappy.
Speaking to Athletic candidly, Beckham stated, “I think so. I think it’s purely because the fans want it. Once you lose the fans, especially at a club like Manchester United, it’s hard to get them back.”

Talking about the contributions from the Glazers, he added “Obviously, they (the Glazers) have achieved a lot, and financially, the fact we’re even talking about the numbers of what Manchester United will sell for shows the success they’ve had. But there needs to be change. We’ve all seen that, we all know that.” The Glazers put United up for sale last season and the project has piqued the interest of two extremely wealthy groups.
The bidding wars are still in process, and the Glazers are waiting for the proper bids to accept. But to match their valuation, it would take a monumental effort.

Will the Glazers sell the club?
Out of all the bidders, Qatari banker Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al-Thani and British billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe, founder and chairman of chemical company INEOS, are the two frontrunners to purchase Manchester United. Meanwhile, the Glazers value the club at $7.6 billion, which is not a straightforward task.

Whoever buys the club next would hope to take them forward. Beckham wants the owners to sell, and he, being an owner himself, could see the progress the clubs make with fantastic fan relationships. Fans await the next move of the Glazers as the future remains in their hands. Do you think the Glazers must sell Manchester United?
