Wrexham is currently enduring one of the best seasons so far. The club is doing wonders domestically and has made a name for itself. There was a time when no one knew much about the club.

However, these past few months have been crucial for them, as their popularity has reached a whole new level. This is, of course, with the help of their new owners, Ryan Reynolds, and Rob McElhenney.

The Hollywood stars have taken the club to a whole new level ever since they took charge of it. Since then, not only have they been in the spotlight, but they have also achieved major success. The club has had a decent run in the FA Cup and is currently ruling the fifth division.

The owners are quite serious and optimistic about the club and are eyeing multiple promotions. However, one of their archrivals wants them to stay in the National League.

Arch rivals want Wrexham to stay

Bromley coach Andy Woodman recently expressed his desire for Wrexham to stay in the National League. The coach believes the team has brought unmatched popularity in the league and is perfect in the fifth division.

“I don’t want Wrexham to go out of this league,” said Woodman. “Wrexham fans will hate me for that, but I think they have been brilliant for this league. Their support, the magnitude of the club, the razzmatazz has been brilliant.”

“I think it is a brilliant story and I am proud to be a part of it; I have been on the right side of it once, but too many times of late I have been on the wrong side of it!” The coach brought up his emotional side as well, “I for one will really miss this fixture if Wrexham go up. I really look forward to it.”

Woodmen insists he wants the club to succeed even more, however, he doesn’t want to lose the limelight the league has received. “Phil is a friend of mine, so I want Wrexham to go up, but I will be sorry to lose the spotlight they have put on the league.”

Moreover, the 51-year-old is thankful for the Welsh club. “We had our record crowd and would we have got that if Wrexham hadn’t come to town? No chance, so we have got a lot to be thankful to Wrexham for. Anyone that wishes bad on a club and a town like Wrexham is not a real football fan.”

Despite the coach’s sincere pleas, Wrexham is on track to secure promotion at the end of the season.

The Red Dragons are currently enjoying their lead in the league after they rallied for a 2-1 win against Bromley. A brace from Paul Mullin was enough to give Parkinson’s men a four-point lead over their rivals.

Woodman also applauded his team’s efforts against both title rivals. “They are two big juggernauts of a club going into the last bit of the season and we have pushed both teams really closely,” he said.

“I am sure Phil was gutted we threw it away at the end against Notts County. We had moments where we made a couple of errors against Wrexham and you can’t do that against the quality they’ve got, but I thought my young team were brilliant.”
