Cristiano Ronaldo has just put the Saudi Pro-league on fire. It was a feast for all Ronaldo fans as he played yet another record-breaking match of his decorated career. It has been a rough ride for the Portuguese star since Ronaldo left Juventus. He joined Manchester United in 2021 in the hopes of bringing back 6 glorious seasons he had played from 2003 to 2009. The writing was on the wall for the Portuguese star and the last stride came in a fateful match against Tottenham Hotspur.

The Portuguese star was going through a slump in the latter half of his time at Manchester United. That slump would continue to the Qatar World Cup and his first couple of matches for Al-Nassr. They benched him yet again in Portugal’s knockout stage matches. He watched from his tearful eyes as Morocco did the unthinkable and knocked them out of the tournament.

The problem with Cristiano Ronaldo

Speaking about what it takes to play with a player like Ronaldo, Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand just made a huge statement. He pointed out how Manchester United starlet Bruno Fernandes got rewarded with Cristiano Ronaldo leaving the club. Bruno has been impactful in a great run Manchester united is on. They are in the 3rd spot, just a hair behind Manchester City.

While talking about the impact of Cristiano Ronaldo, former Manchester United defender Rio said, “I think that might be because Bruno needs to be the guy that the game goes through, and I think the problem with Cristiano Ronaldo is because of his reputation and how good he is, people feel that they need to find him. I have played in teams where you have got a great No.9 and your first look is the No.9. When they are that good, you do look beyond everybody else and I had like [Paul] Scholesy and [Michael] Carrick in front of me. Sometimes I looked past them first“.
