Heroes of mine like Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods, Andre Agassi, and Michael Johnson have been pushed on to greater achievement, I’d say because they know they’ve got the unqualified support of the whole country behind them when they go into action.”

Beckham was one of the influential reasons behind the growth of MLS and soccer in the US. MLS also has one of their rule renamed to Beckham Rule. Beckham’s move to the US served as a catalyst. Many soccer stars from Europe started moving to MLS. It was not like Beckham’s move to the US came after he passed his prime.
Beckham’s stint as a player and owner of a club in the United States
David Beckham was unveiled as an LA Galaxy player on the 13th of July 2007. He left Real Madrid to join the MLS outfit and scored 18 goals in 98 appearances for the LA Galaxy in MLS during his six-year stint. Beckham won back-to-back MLS Cups in 2011 and 2012 with the club.

Beckham’s high-profile move to MLS helped the league to grow. LA Galaxy was able to crack a shirt sponsor deal with Herbalife once the transfer got the confirmation. The number of season ticket holders increased.
