Manchester United have had their most disappointing season so far. The team has already lost 10 games this season, the fastest in their history in the Premier League. But the issue does not seem to be their on-field performance. According to an expert, the coach needs more input and effort from the owners, the Glazers.
Things started to gradually fall apart for the Red Devils after Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure. The Portuguese star felt that the club was suffering at an organizational level, which the supporters feel is true. A former Premier League star feels that it’s not just the manager who is responsible for the current situation.

The club is already suffering from fans’ disappointment at the owners not selling the club. The owners, on the other hand, seem to be least interested in what is going on with the team. After reports of delays in player arrivals, Shaka Hislop feels that Erik Ten Hag needs more instructions and a push from the Glazers. Shaka, after acknowledging the problem of the club, said, “But instruction has to come from the club, and they have to empower the manager to do whatever is needed to get it back under control.”
The coach is not in a position to answer the critics at the moment. After numerous callouts about the performances, Ten Hag still chooses to remain silent. The coach feels that, with time, the team will learn from its mistakes and remain optimistic. The Glazers, however, have not said anything about the on-field issues.
United take on Chelsea today in a midweek clash. A loss won’t help their position on the table. Placed 7th, the team could even lose qualification into the Europa League next year if things go the same. But even the players do not seem to match the challenge this season.

There are bigger issues to consider for Erik Ten Hag
The Red Devils do not have anyone to score aggressively inside the box. Marcus Rashford, who scored 30 goals last season, has scored just 2 goals this season and is challenged of being disinterested. Sometimes, the team has to depend on the defenders to score for them. A former English player even claimed that players were not playing for the coach.

Additionally, as pointed out by former player, Nemanja Matic, players are also accused of taking the training sessions lightly. Jadon Sancho was penalized for the same issue and was not ready to apologize to the manager after a social media spat. With pressure from the media and the fans, whether the Glazers step in and take control of both the players and the manager has to be seen.
