There is no Real Madrid bias for Eden Hazard towards Cristiano Ronaldo. Even though the two never shared the pitch, one could expect some kind of affinity for Ronaldo, courtesy of their shared Bernabeu experience. But that is far from the case.

Hazard previously spiced up social media after claiming that he was better than Ronaldo. And now speaking on the Obi One podcast, he acknowledged Ronaldo’s scoring prowess but evidently had more love to spare for Lionel Messi. Hazard said, For me Messi is the one, Messi is the one if you talk about football. But then people they have different opinion. Ronaldo is the GOAT to score goals, to bring trophies to the team.”

Hazard went on to add, “Look at him now he’s 39, He’s gonna score goals till 50 you know. But me, my style of playing is Messi” insisting the sport be more than just scoring goals.

Hazard also stresses the fact that Messi’s style of play is similar to his liking, with more gameplay, maneuvering, and dribbling. Ronaldo focuses more on finishing and scoring goals while playing in attacking areas. The Portuguese captain is the highest scorer in the world, with 873 goals. But interestingly, Hazard also points out that he is also the best to bring trophies.

Ronaldo boasts a trophy cabinet that would make even the most decorated athletes envious. With five Champions League titles, a European Championship, and a record-breaking five Ballon d’Ors, the talisman is also defying his age with recent stellar performances. His 54 goals in 2023 were instrumental in Al Nassr’s successful campaign this season and are a testament to his enduring brilliance. At 39, the former Manchester United star shows no signs of slowing down, proving that age is just a number.

In the meantime, the club from Riyadh is in pursuit of its first AFC Champions League title. Ronaldo, just like the team, seems to be as excited as ever. The star recently posted on X (previously Twitter) saying, “Let’s keep going, @AlNassrFC_EN!” The league trophy, on the other hand, looks distant as archrivals Al Hilal have been totally dominant. Nevertheless, anything can happen in soccer, and with CR7 on your team, the club is allowed to dream.
