Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior had Manchester United legend, Rio Ferdinand recreate his viral Cristiano Ronaldo meme. On Tuesday night Manchester City and Real Madrid clashed in the first leg of the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League. The match eventually ended in a 1-1 draw with Vinicius Jr. and Kevin De Bruyne stepping up for their team.

However, the highlight of the match turned out to be Vinicius Junior’s goal in the 36th minute of the game. The goal was nothing short of a stunner as Vinicius Junior fired in a long-range shot outside the box, which left the goalkeeper stranded. The goal lit up the stadium as the crowd erupted in a roar of excitement. Rio Ferdinand shared this excitement in the BT Sports studio.

Upon seeing a spectacular effort from Vinicius to open the scoring, Ferdinand couldn’t help but recreate his famed phrase. Ferdinand this time was on his feet as he watched Vinicius Junior find the net from a distance. The moment brought back memories of November 2021 when Ronaldo scored a late strike against Atalanta to level the match in stoppage time.

This was when Manchester United faced Atalanta in the group stages of the Champions League. On that occasion too, Ferdinand was full of joy and screamed out joy “This is what he does!” He further expressed his surprise as he called, Ronaldo an “Alien” for doing that. Since then his famous line has gone viral and has become a meme on social media.

The moment got recently recreated by none other than Ferdinand himself when Vinicius Junior scored his stunner of a goal. Ferdinand couldn’t help but recreate the famed phrase. The veteran defender was ecstatic as he said the same famous line again, “That’s what he does!” with as much excitement as before.

The way Ferdinand resurrected it at the Bernabéu, gave the phrase a whole other level of meaning. Though it may not be Ronaldo, this time around, it was just what we needed to capture the moment fully and to commemorate the sensational goal from a young man who proved once again that he can be counted amongst the finest in the Champions League.
