Today Wrexham AFC is on the world map thanks to its owners, Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney. Since the takeover in 2021, the duo has worked relentlessly to promote the world’s third-oldest soccer club. Their efforts have succeeded and the club’s fanbase has gone up enormously.

Meanwhile, the owners worked effortlessly for the Wrexham community, too. Now, with their efforts to take the Welsh community globally, the Deadpool star has taken a massive step. The article intends to shed light on the new deal that takes Welsh shows globally.

Apart from Wrexham, Reynolds has various other avenues. Maximum Effort is one of them. It is a Film and TV production company that launched its first linear TV channel on FuboTV earlier this month. The company is also behind the Deadpool films and Welcome To Wrexham docuseries. After striking a deal with Fubo earlier this month, Reynolds made a massive announcement of televising Welsh content on Wednesdays on his new channel.

“As many have noted, there is an alarming lack of Welsh content available for American viewing pleasure. That stops today. Well, actually, Wednesdays. We’re so grateful to S4C for helping bring Welsh programming to a broader audience. And to that broader audience: Don’t worry, I am told there will be subtitles,” Reynolds told PA news agency while announcing Welsh Wednesdays.

Accordingly, the US audience can witness six hours of Welsh language programs starting this Wednesday. The reports state the shows that will inaugurate the Welsh Wednesdays are The Red Wall, Wrexham Our Club, and the short film Gareth Bale: Living The Dream.

Ryan Reynolds thanked the S4C TV channel for the support. S4C will supply all the Welsh programs mentioned above and many more to the Maximum Effort channel weekly. The deal will also help S4C and the creators of the programs economically. As a result, there would be further investment in the creative sector in Wales.
