Although the NFL is the league that is most popular in America, fans still have a special place in their hearts for the famous basketball league.
In terms of global leagues, both the NFL and NBA have strong competitors. England’s famous soccer championship, the Premier League, has also taken the sports viewing market to a different level.
Is the PL the NBA of soccer?
The NBA and the Premier League are two entirely different leagues, yet both have a proportional relationship with each other. Both leagues are known for having the best teams and players.
Some experts have even referred to the Premier League as the “NBA of soccer,” which many fans disagree with. Furthermore, an independent American social media portal by the name of Tactical Manager has recently tweeted a rather controversial statement.
“How long till the English Premier League becomes the “NBA” of soccer and every single one of the best players in the World play there? It does sound like an exaggeration but that’s where the current trajectory leads us.”

The Premier League may be one of the best leagues and has the highest viewership of any other soccer league. Moreover, it has some of the best clubs and star players. Yet, the teams in the league lack the major exposure that clubs from other leagues have.
The biggest example can be given in the case of La Liga’s two biggest clubs, FC Barcelona and Real Madrid. Both are the world’s apex clubs and have a rich history in soccer.
Moreover, the only reason the Spanish league has such an impact is because of these clubs. The famous “El Classico” rivalry has had more viewership than any of the matches between the Big Six. Either way, Premier League isn’t the only side to have the greatest stars. Other leagues in Europe also have major star players.
Fans react to the latest debate
The following tweet has caused a fan frenzy as soccer fans are bemused by such speculation. Netizens around the world are joining the debate and having their say on this.
This sort of thing is cyclical. In the 1990s it was Série A. In the 2000s it was Lá Liga. Now it’s PL.

Every single player in the NBA is not better than every other basketball player around the world.
Most? Yes. Not all.
I don't think your scenario will happen. It will be far too expensive for the clubs and there's far too much pride amongst elite players to sit on the bench.

Eh, you could argue that 15 years ago. Real, Juve, Barca, Bayern, Napoli, the Milans and even PSG will always attract the best as well. I’m sure I’m missing some teams too.

One fan was not agreed with the statement and gave quite a steamy response.
This is so incorrect its actually bad. What a terrible take on football. Thank god we dont have a NBA style league. https://t.co/eU8DF0cxc5

All about the money, and @premierleague got the big @NBCSports money. Teams like PSG, Barca, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Juvy will always have money to buy big players, but mid level teams in the "other" 4 leagues won't ever be as strong as PL . Not sure if this is good or bad

Too much money in other leagues and too much talent worldwide. The prem is getting more competitive every year but I don’t think it’s possible for all top players to be in one league.
Even in basketball Europe is making great strides and hosting better players

Not going to happen. There are lots of players that just don't want to live in England. Also, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Juventus, AC Milan, Inter Milan, Bayern Munich and others, are not going anywhere. You're underestimating the love for these clubs.
