A former Norway player and current pundit, Jan Aage Fjortoft on X wrote, “Thank God they got rid of @Cristiano.” Manchester United’s most expensive signing this season Rasmus Hojlund has also been ineffective until now.

The team stands on the list of clubs that have scored the least number of goals this season in the Premier League. Ronaldo had a successful homecoming at United earlier in the season, scoring 24 goals for the club in the 2021–22 season. But things took a drastic turn subsequently in the second half of 2022, with the 38-year-old hardly scoring for the club.

On the other hand, United are getting lower and lower on the table this season. The club’s 2-0 loss against West Ham United today has dropped them from 6th to 8th in the table. Unable to score this year, the club is suffering from below-par aggression and piercing power.
