Spain, as everyone believed, destroyed Costa Rica’s defense. They had a promising 7-0 win against Costa Rica, surprising no one. But, Spain did surprise one soccer pundit. Yes, during the pre-match discussion made an eye-raising prediction and Spain made the expert eat his word. Spain slid through Costa Rica with 82% ball possession and 93% pass accuracy. The soccer pundit is none other than Manchester United veteran Gary Neville.

Twitter is having a blast about this. They are trolling Gary Neville left, right and center, for his prediction. The statement was made keeping in mind the recent performance of the Spanish team. Spain joined the tournament without their star striker and Olmo was injured. But, did play and even scored a goal for Spain.

During the pre-game of Spain vs Costa Rica as both teams were going to kick off their tournament. The host asked Neville about how he see the game go and he made his prediction. Brazil will also kick off its run in the tournament today against Serbia. The match is expected to be one-sided and inclined towards Brazil. But, the way this World Cup is heading, fans should refrain from making predictions.
