“I’m a Man of My Word” – Serena Williams’ Husband Alexis Ohanian Forced to Wear Rival Kevin Durant’s NWSL Team’s Jersey After Losing on a Game of FIFA

Over the past few years, the NWSL has witnessed historic growth. It even led it to get featured in soccer’s most prominent game, FIFA. Earlier, EA Sports announced they will be adding the women’s league as well. As of today, everyone is enjoying the gameplay, with the beloved husband of Serena Williams also testing his gaming skills. But, now that might have backfired on Alexis Ohanian.

The star couple brought NWSL side Angel City FC. Since then, they have been displaying their ownership prowess and love for the club. However, in an unprecedented turn of events, Ohanian might have to wear his club’s rival’s Jersey. Allow us to explain.

Recently, Ohanian shared a video on Instagram where he teamed up with his club’s content creator, Megan Reyes, to play a 2v2 FIFA match against Gotham City’s first husband, Aaron West, and the club’s creative advisor, Ashlyn Harris. All four were seen playing the match as they picked their respective sides.

While playing the game, Ohanian expressed his love for the game. “I’m a fan like everyone else, and I just love the fact that we have a cross-country rivalry budding here with Gotham.” Former USWNT star Ashlyn Harris also had a few words about the growth of NWSL. “The NWSL is moving in such a great direction, and there’s so much investment. It’s been incredible.”

Unfortunately, ACFC’s Ohanian and Reyes lost against Gotham’s Harris and West with a score of 0-2. This led West to cheekily taunt the Angel City owner to wear a Gotham jersey. Harris also sarcastically told him to wear the full jersey with “socks pulled up.” To which the Tennis star’s husband replied, “Oh, I’ll be there, I’m a man of my word.” Poor Ohanian will now need to wear Kevin Durant’s NWSL team jersey. But he is confident to get back to Harris and West, as he wants a rematch.

After losing the game against Gotham City’s Harris and West, Ohanian looks for redemption. The American internet personality has asked the former World Cup winner to play another round of FIFA 2v2 battle. Below the video, he wrote a caption, saying, “Grudge match for the ages. @ashlynharris24 it’s almost time for a rematch. @megreyes_ I’ll ride into battle with you any day! @weareangelcity x @gothamfc rematch Sunday.”

Ohanian says he is ready for a rematch, as this time, he will come prepared. He also said that he is ready to battle alongside her previous partner, Reyes, to defeat Harris and West. Everyone will be waiting to see what happens in that one for sure. But first, Serena Williams’ husband must need to fulfill his own words, by wearing a Gotham FC jersey. For sure, that won’t be liked by some Angel City fans.
