Since the start of her music career, Shakira has developed a huge fan following that has always shown their utmost support and admiration for the ‘Queen of Latin Pop’. After her controversy-filled split de ella with Gerard Pique , her fans only showed more love and dedication as they felt the need to support her when she needed it the most.

Just last month, Shakira made a remarkable return to live performances after a three-year-long break . On ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’, Shakira performed her song ‘Bzrp Music Session #53’ along with fellow artist and Argentine producer, Bizzarap. The performance of what was the singer’s most powerful diss track against Pique garnered rave reviews. However, according to a Spanish journalist, what happened next demonstrated a stark contrast to the “facade” of “sympathy” and “closeness” Shakira presented on the show.

What is this “facade” accusation all about?

Following the performance, hundreds of devoted fans gathered outside the studio in the hopes of getting a chance to meet their idol and maybe even get her autograph. Unfortunately, according to Spanish journalist Saúl Ortiz, Shakira failed to show up, leaving the crowd disappointed .

Ortiz was quick to bring the news to social media, stating, “Shakira yesterday showed very little tact with her fans. 10 hours waiting for her at the door of Fallon’s studio and she didn’t even design to sign them a measly autograph. Nothing to do with the sympathy and closeness that she showed live. Pure façade. Or so it seems. Such is life.” (Google Translate).

There can be no definitive answer as to what happened outside the studio, as Shakira hasn’t come forward to give her view on this matter. However, it is safe to say Shakira does not have an amicable history with journalists, as the Latin artist was slammed by another journalist for her diss track of her.

Goyso voiced his dissatisfaction with the track and questioned whether people’s response to it would stay the same if Pique had released the same song. Furthermore, he argued that art shouldn’t be used as an act of revenge or evoke any sense of victimization.
