Earlier this month, Shakira seemingly moved out of the limelight after relocating to America. But her attempt to avoid the paparazzi was quite unsuccessful. The Colombian singer then released a public statement asking the media to give her family, especially her children, some personal space. While fans filled the comments sections with supportive comments, there were a few critics as well.

One of those critics is a popular Spanish radio and television journalist.

He took up the entire matter for public discussion on live Spanish television. He then blamed the Waka–Waka singer for her own problems.

Is Shakira responsible for overexposing her own kids?

Just recently, Shakira was on every news headline again after she released a public statement. The majority of the discussion around that topic was supportive of the Latin American singer. However, this certain Spanish journalist had a completely different viewpoint. Yesterday, he appeared on live television and tried to decipher the real problem.

In the public statement, there was one line that stood out the most. The line was, “Just wishing they could go out on the street, and attend school feeling safe and having the peace of mind”. In response to this line, Alfonso Arus said, “These children have lived in Catalonia with absolute normality and tranquility until the news of the couple’s divorce emerged,”  as transcribed by La Sexta and translated by Google Translate.

The Spanish journalist then blamed Shakira and Pique for their choices. He said, “On top of that, the theme of Shakira’s songs generated more expectation. The only thing that now shocks everyone is that he tells us that we overexpose”. Arus strongly insisted that Shakira and her former boyfriend are the ones responsible for ‘overexposing’ Milan and Sasha to the media. Just like every instance, the media will take every opportunity to get a snippet or photo of the singer or her family members.

Further, let’s have a look at the other lines from Shakira’s public statement to the fanbase.

Shakira’s public statement to the fans

A day ago, Shakira suddenly issued a public notice to the media in America and her fanbase. She emphasized her kid’s sensitive age on multiple occasions. She wrote, “Milan and Sasha have lived a very difficult year, suffering an incessant siege and relentless pursuit by paparazzi and various media in Barcelona”.

The Latin American singer emphasized that she wrote this message as a mother and not a singer. She pointed out that the emotional and mental health of her children was at stake. She urged the media to let her and her kids lead a “healthy and happy life”. The jury is still out there on whether Shakira and her kids can lead a ‘peaceful’ life in America. On the other hand, Gerard Pique is reportedly planning on tying the knot with Clara Chia Marti in the near future.
