In the sports world dominated by giants like Nike and Adidas, only a few businesses sprout up and prosper. And none of them is led by a 19-year-old entrepreneur. But there is one such rare and inspirational story that has come out recently.

This 19-year-old person runs a business that has its own challenges and hurdles to overcome but is still made profitable. A business that is catching the attention of professional soccer players and several of them play in the Premier League.

The Sun had a talk with the 19-year-old entrepreneur Will Amis where he talked about how he got to this decision. He said that his business is turning out to be good and listed multiple places his product is sold worldwide. Having an extravagant clientele including Declan Rice, John Terry, Ainsley Maitland, and many more in his own words, his “business is booming”.

Soccer players can’t wear their products on the pitch

The most important reason Nike has been dominant in sporting goods is that they have partnerships with almost every known name in the sports world. Players who aren’t signed to Nike are linked with Adidas. These two behemoths have almost the whole sports industry locked and loaded.

The mean reason for this is marketing and exclusivity. Players who are signed with Nike will only be wearing Nike until the deal is enforced. This is the hurdle that seems to stop any sports-related business to bloom.

This hurdle also bothered Amis, his product is shoes. Probably the most looked after sporting goods. The 19-year-old provides a range of options to buyers from his collection of cleats. It is amazing how players can’t wear his product on the pitch or in any sporting event. But, they are still paying up big time to get their hands on the shoes he is selling.

The young entrepreneur also talked about how he got into the business. Amis told The Sun, “my dad gave me a pair of his old Predator Precision boots that he found in the wardrobe and I loved playing in them. Then for my birthday, I got a pair of Power Swerves, then I got another pair, and another pair. I just loved them.”

“A year later, my dad and I started collecting boots, like Accelerators. After that, we started an Instagram page and just posted about the boots we collected at the time. In 2018 we turned it into Classix Collection and we now sell boots all over the world to professional footballers,” Amis added.

Clearly, having his hands on the vintage shoes sparked an interest, and that interest bloomed into a business idea. According to his calculation, Amis makes roughly $30k a month. Given that one store he has a partnership with is in Yas Mall, Abu Dhabi; 30k isn’t a farfetched number. This is how an entrepreneur makes 30k a month selling shoes to soccer stars who can’t wear them in the game.

What do you think of the success story of Will Amis?
