When you look at the sport, Unrivaled remains a professional women’s basketball league that aims to change the landscape of women’s professional sports. Launching in January 2025, there will be six teams with 30 top basketball players from women’s basketball worldwide in a 3-on-3 match. Meanwhile, it will be on a compressed full-court style of play.

Morgan continued, “We brought in a lot of other athletes as well. And you know there are some other big names in the VC world. The competition’s founders have a proper plan to expand the WNBA’s success by starting this new venture. They want the players to have greater financial packages because mostly their income comes from off-court sponsorships. But with this tournament, they can ensure better deals for the players to compete during the off-season.

The WNBA has come alive with players like A’Ja Wilson, Caitlin Clark, and Breanna Stewart putting them on the map. Therefore, they need a platform to showcase their success, and the Unrivaled comes as a tournament to expand their horizons. Hopefully, Alex Morgan and Co. can make a difference in the women’s basketball scene.
