Is Taylor Swift's reign over social media under threat from Cristiano Ronaldo's YouTube surge?

There has been a seismic shift in the YouTube landscape. No one ever imagined Cristiano Ronaldo launching his own channel, UR Cristiano, on the video-sharing platform, and surely the Portuguese skipper is now on a new path causing a ripple effect on the whole industry. It hasn’t been long after he broke the iconic milestones set by MrBeast, and now Taylor Swift might be next on CR7’s target.

The subscribers of UR Cristiano are growing in the blink of an eye. Having crossed a million in 90 minutes and the 10 million mark within 24 hours, you can imagine the kind of growth we may expect every split second on the Al Nassr star’s YT audience. Now, Taylor Swift boasts over 59.8 million subscribers that she has acquired since 21 Sept 2006. On the other hand, Cristiano Ronaldo has over 30.5 million subscribers.

This means that the 39-year-old is just 29.3 million subscribers short of matching the American singer’s milestone. Considering the surge in numbers, who knows? By the time you’re reading this, Ronaldo may come closer than ever to the 34-year-old singer. Hypothetically, if the former Real Madrid star successfully overshadows Swift, he’d still be behind another sensation in the music industry.

Over 42.9 million subscribers would be required for Ronaldo to beat Justin Bieber, who boasts around 73.4 million subs. Yet again, beating this number won’t even get the 5x Ballon d’Or winner into the top 20. There are many other YouTube channels across the globe that Ronaldo would require to beat. And for the number he would need more than 311 million.

This historic milestone currently belongs to James Stephen “Jimmy” Donaldson a.k.a MrBeast. While there’s still time for the legendary soccer star to reach this mark, that didn’t stop him from beating the existing records!

The second record at risk is for the most subscribers gained in 30 days, where Ronaldo might exceed the 29,004,703 subscribers MrBeast gained from May 30, 2024, to June 29, 2024.
