“Taught Me How to Love” – Days After Being Forced Out of Barcelona, Gerard Pique’s Ex, Shakira, Pens an Emotional ‘Mother’s Day’ Message for Ailing Parents

Shakira has been in the news for quite a few months after her diss track success. Through the years, the singer has always prioritized her family first over everything. In recent times, her dad’s health has majorly been on the decline. Her parents are currently living with her in Miami. The Waka–Waka singer owns a gigantic beach house in America that could easily accommodate her entire family from Barcelona. Considering her parent’s ailing health, she couldn’t leave them alone in Spain.

On Mother’s Day, the Colombian singer posted an intimate picture of her parents with a heartwarming message for her mother.

Quite a few celebrities posted pictures with their mother on this auspicious day. Shakira did the same! However, she posted an image of her mother and father sharing a kiss with each other. Along with that, she wrote a tearjerking message to her mother. The fans filled the comments with hearts after reading the message.

She wrote, “Happy Mother’s Day to the woman who taught me how to love”. Amidst all the drama and chaos over her breakup with Pique, her parents have always stood by the singer’s side. However, Pique’s mother never seemed to share good relations with her in-laws. Recently, a shocking video emerged on the internet from the past. Both the set of families were posing together for a photograph. However, Gerard Pique’s mother completely ignores the presence of the Colombian singer’s parents. The two sets of in-laws seemingly shared a ‘distanced’ relationship with her each other.

In recent times, the singer’s father hasn’t been keeping well. Due to a fall in 2022, William Mebarak has been unable to recover from the head trauma. While his surgery was on hold in Spain due to health setbacks, Pique’s father reportedly sent Shakira an eviction notice that left her with no choice but to leave the country.

Joan Pique was reportedly waiting to list the house for sale. However, the Hips Don’t Lie singer, was delaying her exit from Barcelona due to her dad’s health. Considering all the sensitive factors, Joan still sent the 46-year-old an eviction notice via email. If she had not left the mansion immediately, she would have to face heavy compensation charges.

The Waka–Waka singer immediately boarded a flight with her kids and left the country. About a week later, she got her father airlifted to the US along with her mother and a doctor. While everyone was confused about the timing of the eviction notice, a journalist once confronted Joan Pique and questioned him about the same. Rather than giving the fanbase clarity, he ran away, leaving the fans with a five-word cryptic response.
