The song was performed inside the stadium by the band premises with spectators cheering and gasping in awe. The performance was so soothing to the ears that Shakira herself acknowledged its beauty. Hence she shared the clip on her Instagram profile further pushing the clip to virality.

However, what added icing to the electric atmosphere was the presence of a brass band. While the details behind the presence of the band are unknown as of now; the ensemble’s 21-second in-stadium performance has gone viral. The reason is their extremely beautiful rendition of Shakira’s “Hips Don’t Lie”. The music by the band was so delightful that Shakira herself shared the clip of the recital on her social media.

Interestingly, this tribute performance comes days before Shakira is set to be honored by MTV for her legacy.

MTV set to award a prestigious award to the “Hips Don’t Lie” hitmaker

After tumultuous experiences in her personal life over the last 14 months, Shakira is getting a well-deserved spotlight on her professional life, which has been nothing short of exemplary. This is possible thanks to MTV giving her much-needed recognition for her contribution to the music industry over the years. Hence MTV is all set to award Shakira with the prestigious Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award; making her the first Latin American winner.

“Shakira is a true global force who continues to inspire & influence the masses with her unique, musical prowess.  She’s a trailblazer for women around the world & one of the first artists to lead the globalization of Latin music,” said Bruce Gillmer, President of Paramount confirming Shakkira’s win. The pop sensation will receive the award at the MTV VMA Awards on September 12th.
